    16-22 July, 2007
AIMS, Muizenberg (Cape Province), South Africa

This is an intensive one-week workshop providing a hands-on introduction
to the technology behind volunteer computing, made famous by the project
SETI@home. The technology harnesses volunteer computing power on the net
for science, including projects with humanitarian goals that can benefit
    Africa, such as malariaControl.net.

Applications are welcomed from scientists or software engineers based in
academic or research institutions in Africa. To apply, please fill in
the form at www.icvolunteers.org/files/aims_form.php and include
a CV and suitable academic recommendations to assist selection.
Applicants should have programming experience with both Linux and
Windows environments. Preference will be give to candidates who will be
able to return to their home institutes and teach and apply the
    technology there.

Organised and sponsored by the Africa@home partnership
(www.africaathome.org). Hosted by the African Institute for Mathematical
    Sciences AIMS.
