No the Server has plenty of units to send out "Results ready to send 5,613", you might want ot take this to the Number crunching section so more people will see it and help you.

Hi, vinz:

Maybe you could elucidate "this". I don't understand the problem to which "this" refers.

Let's see if you are referring to the crunching ten it is turns out that every 30 seconds, on average, some DIES of Malaria in the World. There are many ways to stop that, kill all the mosquitoes, but not an easy task and it turns out thru research not all even carry Malaria. So we are down to prevention and trying to keep people alive after getting bitten. Turns out, again thru research, that there are like 17 strains of Malaria, so someone could get infected by one strain, 10 strains, all 17 strains or any combination of the 17. Some mosquitoes carry more than one strain, what this project is trying to do is figure out which drug works for which strain or strains and how effective they are. Back in the 1800's, and probably before, Quinine was given to everyone, it worked on some people while on others it did nothing at all. Research has shown that Quinine is effective on some strains but not others, although, again thru research, it turns out Quinine is very rudimentary and there are much better drugs out there. Research is also showing that if someone gets infected by 5 strains as an infant and then 3 different strains as toddler, the treatment should be different than from just getting infected as a toddler, or even an adult! Research means you and I crunching the workunits!! Currently the single best thing is mosquito netting, but the problem is you can't walk around in life with a net covering everything 24/7, so there are plenty of opportunities to get infected. Research has shown that if no treatment is given when infected as an infant and then that person gets reinfected as a toddler, the treatment should be NOT be the same as someone who did get treated as an infant. The Reader's Digest version....we crunch and more people live now!

It`s good that is back to normal and I hope that in the future will be situation the same. My team will be starting big tournament for all schools in The Czech Republic. This tournament will have some "rounds" and MalariaControl was choosen like the first. More information about this tournament you can find on the website but only in czech. You can use google translator...

For the first time for first round was choosen POEM but this project is now unstable, that's why we choose MalariaControl. ;)

What's going on with this project? No news or update. I don't like to be in the dark, specially crunch in the dark. Admins, modes and scientists need to wake up and give us updates and news. Would motivate us a bit.

Why do units keep arriving at such a speed? I joined BOINC and its various good causes (and wacky ones) because I was told that my computers would be used only when they were not busy. But Malariacontrol is ensuring that I have to keep processing even when I would normally switch off. Whilst I am happy with the cause, I am not happy having my computer (the one that Malariacontrol is on) hijacked. You are sending too much. This is not insulting or hostile, just true.

The problem is your pc ALWAYS has 'down time' meaning that when you open your email program your pc works fairly hard, then the cpu slows down and just idles as it waits for your next command, it is during those 'down times' that Boinc does its thing and crunches. There are many, MANY setting that you can tweak to make Boinc stop crunching during the day for example, or alot of other things. Why don't we take this to the Number Crunching thread and get LOTS of other people involved to help too.
