Hi all,

I was wondering what the difference is between the results that are pending validation on my account and on the server status page. Can anyone elaborate on that?

thanks.

They are both webpages and do not get updated and reported at the same time, so there is some delay between them.

Thanks for your answer. I kinda figured that out already ;) Probably my question should have been formulated a bit clearer.

What I have not yet been able to get at is why it regularly states numbers there that are lower than the actual amount of WU's I have pending in my own stats. Does that mean there is more than one validation process going on?

The validator process is run periodically on the server. During the period between runs the Workunits waiting for validation count on the server status page indicates the number of workunits which have received enough reported tasks to trigger the validation process.

Tasks which are pending validation on a user account do include these but the vast majority of them are waiting for the number of completed tasks to match the workunit's quorum.

hello all

I do not understand why I have 90 + WU and successful validation atenta since October 15. Most of the WU I was the only one made.

What happens at the validator. ?

In fact, WU does not validate this and waiting for my RAC decreases.

Thank you very much in advance for your answers and explanations.

Yes indeed it's a total of 93, the number is growing every hour.
The oldest and October 15.
In fact there are 92 because there is a deemed invalid.

It's hard to be sure with the BOINC server code suppressing workunit details until they've been validated, but I've noticed that my systems were sent many reissues this week which successfully validated (lots of _2 and _3 tasks, a few _4 and one _5). Workunits which haven't been deleted often include tasks which have timed out or were aborted after 4 days. If the reissue suffers the same fate you've got an 8 day delay.

I suspect the cause is probably the sequence of unusually long running openMalariaB wu_1200_* jobs which have been sent out over the past couple of weeks. My laptop has certainly been forced into running the project in high priority for long periods after a reasonable level of work fetch was kicked into trouble when one of those tasks completed. In the most extreme case the estimated time for the queued tasks jumped from just over an hour to more that 6 hours and the project ran exclusively for over 40 hours to get out of deadline trouble.

Well, let's hope someone does something about this because I think it affects all the crunchers. The statistics show a significant reduction in the daily project credits.

WUs flowing again....I have 250 pending validation. I guess we will just have to wait.

Must be a magic date, same here.

Maybe one specific series that started at that day and has a very high quorum or so.

I started noticing the credit drop off a few days ago -- and popped in here to see if any of the admins had noticed and or commented on it.

Haven't seen anything there -- just us user types. Perhaps the project folks have been so resource constrained they have not noticed.

In any event, for me, in order to give the project a chance to clear things (and provide some comment), I simply go to 'no new work mode' and shift the cycles over to other projects. For me that means POEM and Einstein pick up the cycles for now.

I figure to shift back once (ideally) someone from the project side has a comment to offer indicating that they have observed the problem and have a fix in place. Alternative, I'll wait until other user reports suggest that the problem either solved itself, of the project folks took care of it without providing comment about it. Sometimes that happens -- this project has good research to focus on and on occasion they are so short resources they are not able to close the loop out here.

I looked at my account for this project on BOINCstats and I ahve gotten credit every day for the past 30 days, so the validator must be running and has been so.
-
I think a lot of what you are seeing is normal. I see some on my account that took longer than normal to validate for the reason, the wingman, or wingmen, caused a delay and the task had to be resent one or more times while mine returned on time had to wait for validation.
-
See also the other thread about EIRDaily errors, a bunch of work was issued which caused errors and that has to be resent.

Hmm tricky one this.
Seeing loads of re-sends 95%+ of which are the result of the behaviour of one cruncher.Hundreds if not thousands of accounts created. From just a quick look at my results the ID nos range from 302133-351198.Each of these accounts appear to be for the same computer all with 1-5 work units that have timed out.
This is a little reminiscent of the 'Wate' issue at predictor@home back in 2006.
CPDN are also saying their servers are being attacked.
My unreserved apologises go out if this is above board but thought this deserved a mention.
Chris.
Edit when clicking on this crunchers 'show computers' the site goes sluggish and shows no results.

hello all
I think it's good, everything returns to normal.
In two days "almost" all pending WU have been validated.
Apparently the delay is due to crunchers who have not made the work on time.
