I've reported this task missing the deadline, now it doesn't validate and if I see to the WU it says that tasks in progress are "suppressed pending completion".

I have another task that I'm crunching and I can see the "suppressed pending completion" also in the new WU. What's going on?

This is due to the fact that the project uses reliable hosts. boinc server suspresses information so that the "cheaters" can't figure out who their wingman is or even if there is one. Some reliable hosts get sent 1 task with no wingman and when it is returned it gets validated immediately. At least I think this is the cause. It is a boinc-central control and not a project specific setting to hide anything. You'll just have to wait until it clears and has been granted credit.

One other thing DO NOT MISS DEADLINES as in most cases the units will NOT validate!!! Just delete the unit and make your cache smaller, the unit will get sent out to another pc. Don't worry it happens all the time for many various reasons.

Thank you for clarification.
I'm having problems on projects with short deadlines since I've upgraded to Boinc 6.12.x, but for this particular WU the problem was it took 6 hours to complete, while my PC standard is 1 hour! :-p
I hope that the duration correction factor will adapt rapidly to avoid other missed tasks.

Right now I too get multiple units with multiple different completion times here on Malaria, as you say most are one hour but some are in the 5 to 6 hour range for me too!

In fact, the jobs provided by the scientists are different depending on what they want to simulate and how they want to do it. That's why the completions times might vary with the jobs you receive. We have different kind of jobs:
- The fittings runs which try to find the best parameterization for our model in that case the duration is almost always the same
- some punctual batches provided by the scientist who wants to simulate some of hypotheses In that case, we're trying to estimate the flops_estimate and it could happen that the deadline is short but in general we're setting it to 4 days.

Hope it answer some of your questions :)
