After setup of Boinc and login to malariacontrol I get the message:
Message from server: No work sent
Message from server: (there was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated)
Message from server: Not enough disk space (only 73.4 MB free for BOINC). Review preferences for minimum disk free space allowed.
What settings I have to change?

Go to "Your account", "View or edit general preferences", "Edit preferences", and change one or both of "Leave at least XX GB disk space free" and "Use no more than XX% of total disk space"

I have 3 GB avaiable. I tryed to increase und decrease all the settings but BOINC always write back I have not enough space. What setting is recommendet?

I was running into this problem. I like to keep the amount of disk space allotcate to BOINC fairly tight. All the projects I run will run in 250MB (.25GB). But for some reason this project wants 200MB of room in the BOINC directory. So that is (proj A + Proj B + ... + malariacontrol + 200MB.); but my malariacontrol dirctory is only using 10.5 MB of data.
On top of this it includes it own used space in the calculations. So if it tries to download download 75K of data, but there is only 199.4MB of room in BOINC, malariacontrol will refuse to download it (Just had it happen to me).
I like to keep the BOINC disk space tight so projects like World community grid do not over whelm my machine. They just releasea a cancer project that wants 750MB of ram. I only have a 1GM machine. Also needs 500MB free disk space for the project; the 275MB I have defined stopped it from running.
