i\'m running 5.8.2 boinc mananger on redhat EL4. I am not able to adjust my disk preference so that it will download any work to run. I\'m getting :
Message from server: (there was work but you don\'t have enough disk space allocated)
Message from server: Note nough disk space (only 165.0 MB free fro BOINC). Review preference ....

well i have 1.9gb free in the file system boinc is running in.
my preference says:
use at most 2gb
leave at least 0.001 free
and use at most 100% disk space.

So why does it think 165MB free isn\'t enough space? is this a bug with 5.8.2 or a bug with project running on linux?

Some projects insist that the BOINC directory structure has at least 200MB availale to it. That is \"Use at most ... GB\" - \"Boinc directory structure size\" > 200MB.

Now considering you have \"use at most 2GB\", the BOINC directory structure would have to have a size greater than 1.8 GB, for the error message you are getting, to activated.

Does the system think, for some reason that \\boinc\\... has more than 1.8GB assigned to it?

I found the problem. for some reason this project set the value of disk_max_used_gb in the file sched_request_www.malariacontrol.net.xml to 0.200000
i changed that to 2 and now the project is no longer fussing about the lack of space. I believe the project is computing something wrong at install/setup time.

i don\'t normally edit the config files but looks like this fixed the issue for me.
