Today I received 4 "teansmission_144.exe" workunits, they all crashed unisono.

I tried to start the application standalone without cmdline args on a different box, it crashed there too.

It might have forgotten to extract the java runtime ZIP file.
I could not check the slot directory though, the crashes came too quick.

edith : The visible problem (stderr) was just a file transfer error (-161), that gave no hint about what really happened. I have seen more -161 reports in the board lately, I guess several of them have the same reason.

One more thing : The executable file has a reference to bin/java.exe and bin/jre.exe but the runtime does not contain either of the two files, even though java.exe is mentioned in the readme.txt

So it might run on computers that already have the required Java version installed, but not on those without an already existing installation.

The "optimizer_1.44_windows_intelx86" (no .exe extension there) has a reference to "jre.zip" but the file is jre_125.zip
