You were affected by that on Sep 2/3? I see all your machines are pretty stock Windows XP boxes - you should see no difference based on homogeneous redundancy settings.

My machines seems to have enough work, but they\'re running 50/50 malaria-simap now, while simap got work.

I\'m getting no more work, even through Server status page is claiming some 900 results ready to send.

I\'m running linux/x86 app under anonymous platform file on freebsd host.

And today, you overtook me, mikey. Congratulations, I guess. You\'re putting up a good show :) I can\'t really compete with my turnaround.

Well, running Linux on PS3 is not attractive. You need the boinc-client replacement to drive the PS3 hardware directly, like the games do.

Ah, don\'t worry, 800 meters is way beyond the underground water, which is typically 15 to 50 meters below surface...

The nuclear energy is the greenest of them all. And the cheapest. Mind you, the running costs of wind turbine are more than the value of the electricity they generate. It\'s basically get rich fast scheme - you build up a turbine, you get subsidies from the gov and from the Union, you employ a law to force the grid to buy worthless energy from you at extreme prices. Wind generated energy is worthless - you can\'t rely on it, you have to have a 100% backup of the installed output in a traditional power plant, that you can bring online once the breeze stops.

And it ruins the landscape. I just can\'t help not to hate it.

Wholesale prices comes with wholesale consumption. Over here in Czech republic, I\'m paying 4.20 Kc/kWh (15 eurocents) at my appartment, but the company I work for is paying 1 Kc/kWh (3 eurocents). The consumption is roughly 50 kW. It\'s only a small colo here :)

Ever considered having the machines colocated? If that iron would do nothing else but boinc, why should it be sitting in your house at all? :) I think in US you can get colo prices comparable to residential electricity bills...

Ain\'t the main blocker the non-portability of boinc-client to PS3? Note that the Folding is not BOINC project.

I think no. What do you mean with non-portability of the boinc client ? - I have not seen any problems by the BOINC porting for a lot of Unixes in my past expirance.

PS3 is nowhere near UNIX, nor even POSIX compliant system, mind you. It haven\'t got a traditional operating system, even.

You\'d have to write a boinc-client-ps3 from scratch, basically. And without the platform, there will never be any science apps, either.
